The American Chamber of Commerce in India (AMCHAM) convened its Energy Committee during the India Energy Week (IEW) 2025, held from February 11th to 14th at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. This gathering underscored the collaborative efforts between the United States and India in addressing global energy challenges and advancing sustainable solutions.

On February 13th, AMCHAM’s Energy Committee members assembled at the Emerson booth within the IEW venue. The meeting was led by Mr. Anil Bhatia, Chairman of the Energy Committee and Vice President & Managing Director of Emerson India. Discussions centered on the committee’s strategic vision and future initiatives aimed at strengthening U.S.-India energy cooperation. Members deliberated on areas necessitating engagement with the Government of India to foster a conducive environment for energy sector growth.
India Energy Week 2025 Highlights
IEW 2025 marked its third edition as a pivotal event in the global energy calendar, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and professionals to deliberate on sustainable energy pathways. Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the event showcased India’s commitment to energy transition and sustainability. Key announcements included India’s ambition to produce 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030 and achieving 500 GW of energy from non-fossil fuel sources.
The event also facilitated significant international collaborations. Notably, India’s Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) signed agreements with Norway’s Equinor for the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and with TotalEnergies for the import of crude oil. These partnerships aim to diversify India’s energy imports and strengthen its energy security.
