Sony TV May Have to Take Down An Episode of Dance Show

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has reportedly asked Sony Pictures Networks to take down one of its Kids Dance Show videos as a child participant was asked sexually explicit questions regarding his parents.

The apex body has also sought an explanation from Sony TV why a child performer was asked such inappropriate questions.

Letter Issued

The commission has issued a letter to the grievance officer of the television network, in which it mentions having come across a video on Twitter, where judges were heard asking a child dancer lewd questions about his parents.

“Further, the commission on viewing the said video observes that all questions asked to the minor were inappropriate and disturbing in nature and not meant to be asked to children,” it commented.

“Therefore, your good offices are requested to urgently take down the said episode and further send an explanation to the commission as to why such inappropriate questions were asked to the minor child artist on a kid’s dance show,” the NCPCR said.

The commission has also asked Sony Pictures Networks not to steam such vulgar content on their channel.

Super Dancer Chapter 3 is a popular show on Sony Pictures Networks. The channel has fallen into a soup after the video of one of its episodes came to the notice of NCPCR, wherein a 5-year-old child artist was asked inappropriate questions by the judges who along with the audience were seen enjoying the child’s comments.

NCPCR Takes a Tough Stand

The apex body has found the entire conversations extremely indecent and strongly condemned such things involving kids. The commission has minced no words in saying that the channels should not promote vulgar and sex-loaded content, especially when the shows are meant for children.

In recent times, vulgar content in films and TV shows has been a great concern for parents and also other sane minds of society. Let us keep our fingers crossed whether NCPCR’s action will be a strong step towards stopping such things in movies and TV programs.
