Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced a new scheme for the farmers of the state, called ‘Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana’. Under this scheme, the farmers will get an additional aid of Rs 6,000 per year, apart from the Rs 6,000 per year they are already getting under the ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi’ scheme.
This means that the farmers of Madhya Pradesh will get a total of Rs 12,000 per year as financial assistance from the state and central governments. This will help them to meet their agricultural expenses and improve their income and livelihood.
The Chief Minister said that this scheme is a tribute to the farmers who are the food providers of the state and the nation. He said that his government is committed to the welfare and development of the farmers and will take all possible steps to support them.
The Chief Minister also announced that the government employees who have completed 35 years in service would be awarded with a fourth-time pay scale. This will benefit about 1.25 lakh employees and will cost the state exchequer Rs 250 crore.
The state cabinet also approved several other decisions, such as imparting art training fellowship to 1,000 youth, establishing four new government colleges, six new government ITIs, and amending the rules for land allocation and management for MSMEs.
The Chief Minister said that these decisions are aimed at promoting education, skill development, employment generation, and industrial growth in the state. He said that his government is working towards making Madhya Pradesh a prosperous and self-reliant state.
The Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana is a welcome step for the farmers of Madhya Pradesh, who have been facing various challenges due to natural calamities, market fluctuations, and low productivity. The scheme will provide them with some financial relief and security and will boost their confidence and morale.
The scheme will also encourage more farmers to adopt modern farming techniques, diversify their crops, and increase their productivity and income. The scheme will also help in reducing rural poverty and distress migration.
The scheme is expected to benefit about 80 lakh farmers in the state, who have less than five acres of land. The scheme will be implemented from July 1, 2023 and the first installment of Rs 3,000 will be transferred to the bank accounts of the eligible farmers by August 15, 2023.
