Kevin Costner’s ambitious western franchise faces a delay. The sequel to “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1” won’t hit theaters on August 16. A New Line Cinema spokesperson confirmed the news on Wednesday.

Focus on First Film’s Discovery

The decision aims to give audiences more time to discover the first “Horizon” installment. It will be available in theaters, on PVOD, and on streaming platform MAX. The spokesperson expressed gratitude for the support of exhibition partners as moviegoers discover the film in theaters.

Performance and Distribution

“Horizon: An American Saga” premiered on June 28. Warner Bros. distributed the film, grossing under $23.5 million worldwide. Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company, shares ownership with CNN.
