The Administration of Andhra Pradesh is reportedly preparing new schemes for the overall welfare of the state. They have recently announced two important schemes – YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme and Shadi Tohfa Scheme. Both the schemes have been announced by the honourable chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Both these plans will be implemented on October 1. Under the two schemes, financial support amounting up to Rs.1 lakh will be made available for the wedding of only those girls coming from financially weak families or belonging to some specific categories. Within the context of the YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme, beneficiaries will get a prize of Rs. 1 lakh and twenty thousands. Disabled people will receive compensation.
In this article, we will talk about the scheme, the reasons of its launch, benefits of the scheme, eligibility to register for the scheme and how to register for the scheme.
YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme 2023
The Andhra Pradesh State Government has launched Kalyanamasthu Scheme 2023. The YS Jagan Administration has increased financial support and extended welfare to every area of society. The financial aid will benefit those who have interracial marriages. Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, Parsis and other minorities will be able to get benefits through the scheme.
Every family wants respectable marriage proposal and ceremony for their children. Marriage is considered auspicious and an important phase in one’s life. However, many families cannot fulfil their dream of marrying their children in a memorable way due to unavailability of enough funds. The current government had ‘supporting minorities’ schemes in their election agenda. Hence, after assuming power, the state administration has fulfilled its pledge by launching the campaign, specially designed for the benefits of minority communities.
The state government will provide financial help to the members belonging to the SCs, STs, BCs, disabled and non-Muslim minority groups through the “YSR Kalyanamasthu” scheme. Muslims will get financial aid through the “YSR Shaadi Tohfa” program. The initiative was taken by the Andhra Pradesh Government. The objective of these two programs is to support low-income families from minority communities so that they can marry their daughters in a respectable way.
Andhra Prades Chief Minister Y. S. Jagmohan Reddy announced on Friday that his government had allocated Rs. 87 crore for the YSR Kalyanamasthu and YSR Shaadi Tohfa programs. He also added that these two programs would help 12, 132 eligible females supposed to get married during the time period of January-March. All these females belong to SC, ST and BCs. They will have the financial aid directly transferred to their bank accounts. The YSR Shaadi Tohfa scheme has been implemented only for Muslim women’s weddings.
The government will provide financial aid to the daughters of poor SC, ST and BC families through the YSR Kalyanamasthu scheme. The bigger objective that the government want to achieve through this scheme is to create awareness among people about the importance of educating their children as the program makes Class 10 certification mandatory for the beneficiaries in addition to supporting the females.
