·        Implementation Date: The Andhra Pradesh government plans to start the YSR Cheyutha Scheme on August 12th.

·        Partnership Announcement: On Monday, August 3rd, the government signed an agreement (MOU) with three companies: Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), ITC, and Procter and Gamble (P&G). Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy witnessed the signing.

·        Participation: HUL Chairman and Managing Director Sanjiv Mehta, ITC Executive Director Sanjiv Puri, and P&G India CEO Madhusudan Gopalan joined via video conference.

·        Company Role: These companies will offer marketing opportunities and technical support to over 25 lakh women in the state.

·        Government Investment: The government is allocating Rs 4,500 crore for the implementation of this scheme.

Budget Allotment for YSR Cheyutha Scheme

Budget Announcement: On Tuesday, June 16th, the Andhra Pradesh government unveiled its state budget during the Assembly session in Velagapudi.

Finance Minister’s Presentation: Finance Minister B Rajendranath Reddy presented a budget of Rs 2,24,789.18 crore for 21 welfare programs initiated by the state government in honor of Late YS Raja Sekhar Reddy and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, aimed at the well-being of the state’s residents.

Inclusion of YSR Cheyutha Scheme: The YSR Cheyutha Scheme is among these programs, and the government has allocated Rs. 6,300 crores in the budget for its implementation.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Welfare Initiatives: Beyond YSR Cheyutha Scheme

1. YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme: 

This program, also known as ‘YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus,’ currently benefits 77 tribal communities. The government has allocated ₹1,863.11 crores for these initiatives.

2. Housing Plan Adjustments: The Cabinet adjusted the housing plan in response to the High Court’s instructions. Recipients can only sell their designated housing plots after they build and live in a house for at least five years.

3. YSR Vidya Deevena Scheme: 

This scheme will deposit fee reimbursements directly into mothers’ accounts in four installments. This change gives mothers the ability to oversee educational expenses and infrastructure improvements.

4. Establishment of Sanskrit Institute: The Cabinet has preliminarily approved the establishment of a Sanskrit institute in Tirupati. Moreover, they have approved proposals to create Telugu and Sanskrit institutes under the A.P. Higher Education Society.
