West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation has introduced a scholarship scheme called Aikyashree Scholarship for the students of the minority communities in the state. Under the scheme, deserving candidates, who belong to the minority community and are studying in schools and colleges, will receive financial help to continue their studies. Through this scheme, the West Bengal Government will provide social-economic benefits as well as educational opportunities to the students of the minority communities.
This scheme is sort of end-to-end scholarship for students belonging to the minority communities in West Bengal. Through this scholarship program, the students from the minority communities will get financial help for their studies from Class 1 to Ph. D. level. Only students from minority communities will be able to apply for this scholarship. The minority communities of West Bengal are Muslims, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs and Parsis.

Aikyashree Scholarship: Objectives
The main objective of Aikyashree Scholarship is to help minority students of the state financially so that they can pursue their studies without worrying about financial hardships. It should be mentioned in this context that financial assistance will be provided to only those students who belong to the minority communities and are financially weaker. The students will receive financial assistance for their studies from class I to Ph. D level. Through this scholarship scheme, educational opportunities and social-economic benefits will be provided to the deserving candidates so that they don’t have to give up studies for lack of financial support.

| West Bengal Post Matric Scholarship | Under this scholarship scheme, beneficiaries will be provided with financial incentive from Rs 160 to Rs 1200 per month. The students studying in class 11th and 12th are eligible to avail the benefit of this scholarship scheme. Only those students, who belong to SC, ST and OBC category, are eligible to get the benefits of this scheme. Aikyashree Scholarship: Features & Benefits
Ø West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation has launched a scholarship scheme called Aikyashree Scholarship.
Ø Under the scholarship scheme, the students belonging to the minority communities will receive financial assistance to pursue higher studies.
Ø Through the scholarship, the government of West Bengal provides educational and socioeconomic opportunities to minority students.

Aikyashree Scholarship: Conditions
Ø The applicant must submit the income certificate of his/her family at the time of applying for the scholarship.
Ø If the student wants to renew the application, he/she will have to secure at least 50% marks in the previous year examination.
Ø The day scholars and hostellers will receive maintenance allowance.
Ø The applicant must attend the classes regularly.
Ø In case the beneficiary is found of breaching any school discipline or terms and conditions of scholarship, the scholarship will be suspended or cancelled
Ø If the student has applied any kind of false means to receive financial assistance through this scholarship, the scholarship will be cancelled and on top of that, paid scholarship will be recovered
Ø The amount of scholarship will be directly transferred into the beneficiary’s bank account through the direct benefit transfer mode.

- For new scholarship: The scholarship provider will selection students on the basis of merit as well as according to the allocation of budget.
- For renewal scholarship: The students, who have secured at least 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination, will be chosen for scholarship.
