Dayara Bugyal Trek is one the most popular winter treks in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India, and specifically is a 3 to 4 days hiking based trail to explore the beauty of the Garwal Himalayas. It passes through the special goat village Raithal, dense forest trail, water strems, and Gui Campsite from where trekkrs can enjoy a views of the Gangortri range with some of snow caped mountains in the north east direction and procceding forward on the route finally it takes trekkers to the Uttarakhand’s one of highest alpine meadows, Dayara Bugyal, this meadow covers a total area of approximately 3.76 km² (1.45 mi²) and ranges in altitude from 11,000 ft to 12,500 ft. The terrain sections along the route range from easy to moderate in difficulty, making it accessible for beginners and children as well.

Surrounded by beautiful Himalayan peaks, this trek offers a cultural experience to the trekkers. Every year in August, a festival known as Butter Festival is organized by the local villagers of Raithal and Barsu. This festival is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Mother Nature and is celebrated with the aim of abundance of fresh vegetation in the grasslands of Dayara Bugyal as these grasslands are the main source of income for the residents here. This is a traditional festival which gives the message to trekkers to protecting nature and not polluting while trekking.
