Hockey India is in charge of the men’s national field hockey squad that plays for India. The Indian Hockey Federation used to be in charge of the squad. The first non-European team to join the International Hockey Federation was India. India’s hockey team, with eight gold medals in total—1928, 1932, 1936, 1948, 1952, 1956, 1964, and 1980—is the most successful team in Olympic history.
