How to Apply  for the Kanya Sumangala Yojana Online?

  • Visit the official website of the scheme at https://mksy.up.gov.in/women_welfare/citizen/guest_login.php and navigate to the ‘Quick Links’ section.
  • Under the ‘Citizen Services Portal’ tab, locate the ‘Apply Here’ button and click on it.
  • You will be redirected to a new page where you’ll need to register yourself. After registering, tick the ‘I Agree’ button and click on ‘Continue.’
  • Next, you will be prompted to fill in some personal details and enter the captcha. Once this is done, click on ‘Send SMS OTP.’
  • An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP to complete the  Kanya Sumangala Yojana registration process.
  • After successful registration, log in with your username and password. You will find an online registration form for the Kanya Sumangala Scheme.
  • Fill out the form with the required details and upload the necessary documents.
  • Once you’ve completed these steps, your online application for the Kanya Sumangala Scheme will be processed.

Key Features of the Kanya Sumangala Scheme UP

The Kanya Sumangala Scheme stands out for its unique features:

  • Phased Disbursement: The scheme disburses funds in phases, with each phase tied to specific milestones in the girl child’s life. These milestones include her birth, vaccination, admission to grades 1, 5, 9, and graduation.
  • Eligibility Cutoff: Only girl children born after April 1, 2019, are eligible to receive the full grant. Those born before this date can still avail benefits but will receive a proportionate amount based on their birth date.
  • Direct Transfer: The financial assistance is directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account, ensuring transparency and efficiency.

Levels of Implementation and Amount Released

The Kanya Sumangala  is structured into various phases, with corresponding amounts released:

  • First Class: Rs. 2,000 for newborn girl children born on or after April 1, 2019.
  • Second Class: Rs. 1,000 for girl children who have been fully vaccinated before turning one and were not born before April 1, 2019.
  • Third Grade: Rs. 2,000 for girls admitted to the first grade during the current academic session.
  • Fourth Class: Rs. 2,000 for girls admitted to the sixth grade during the current academic session.
  • Fifth Category: Rs. 3,000 for girls admitted to the ninth grade during the current academic session.
  • Sixth Grade: Rs. 5,000 for girls who have successfully completed the 10th and 12th grades and have enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or 2-year diploma program during the current academic session.

Kanya Sumangala Yojana Eligibility Criteria

To benefit from the Kanya Sumangala Scheme, families must meet specific eligibility criteria:

  • Annual Income Limit: The annual income of the beneficiary’s family should not exceed Rs. 3 lakh.
  • Uttar Pradesh Residency: The family of the beneficiary must be permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh and possess a valid residency certificate.
  • Family Size: Families seeking to enroll in the scheme should not have more than two children.
  • Limitation on Beneficiaries: The Kanya Sumangala Scheme extends to a maximum of two girl children in a family.
  • Adoption Inclusion: Adopted girl children are also eligible to avail benefits under the Kanya Sumangala Scheme.
  • Twins Exception: The third girl child born from the second delivery of twins is also entitled to benefits under the scheme.
