Dr Yojana Pokarna, M.D. Ayurveda, Co-founder of Orijine Clinic, says the monsoon season causes an aggravation of pitta and bata doshas. Therefore, people should take extra care of their health during this time. In Ayurveda, maintaining the balance of all doshas is important for their overall well-being.
Season change and the onset of rains often cause a pandemic of flu, cough and cold among people across the country. Taking precautions will safeguard you against cough and cold during this season.
According to Ayurveda, the time span from mid-July to mid-September is called Varsha Ritu or monsoon. Dr Pokarna says this time duration belongs to the Visarga Kala and takes place during the sun’s movement to the south of the equator from Adaan Kala (previous position). Vata and pitta doshas, which get intensified during monsoon, can disrupt a healthy digestive system and cause indigestion, diarrhea and bloating.
Therefore, it becomes important for people to take care of their health to avoid falling ill and live a healthy life.
